Department of Neurosciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia Health Campus, 16150, Kubang Kerian, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia.
The requirements of the successful candidate is to research on cortical computation at the level of spiking neurons in animals as well as humans(during Deep Brain Microelectrode recording) with an emphasis on the role of precise spike timing in neural coding and the role of neural coherence. Models are required to connect in vivo experiments data at the single neuron level with those obtained at the systems level using fMRI, EEG/ERP or MEG .
Profile of the ideal candidate
The post depends on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. He/she will be a responsible collaborator in a transdiciplinary cluster of which a component of research is computational and theoretical analyses of networks of spiking neurons. The candidate should have a Phd in Computational Neurosciences/Neuroinformatics not more than 5 years old.
The candidate will be responsible for the following duties regarding research, teaching and administration:
The successful candidate should have an excellent track-record and reputation in NeuroInformatics, Computational or Theoretical neuroscience with previous publication record of publication in high ranking journals.
The candidate should be able to develop his own research line in collaboration with other researchers in the Dept of Neurosciences and the Brain Mind Nexus leading to papers in high-impact journals.
