Before this Summer, we were mostly using MATLAB code to run our simulations. Looking to speed up our simulations that were taking four hours for one to complete, I taught myself some basic python and got familiar with pyDSTools...Now what took four hours takes about 20minutes, booya!

I've started writing a series of blog posts demonstrating how Python can be used in computational neuroscience tasks such as neural modeling and simulation. They can be found at the Neurdon blog ( I hope you find them useful.
