We can work out a prototype of biolar disorder, just as what I have done at www.bipolarillness.dk, but we have to take account that there are a comprehensive variabillity from patient to patient, suffering from bipolar illness. So our understanding…

Hi Angela. You have your experience yourself about brain and mind in what we can call a special condition. For many years ago I had manias and I also experineced that the brain and mind were not working together. But to day it all work fine. I think…

I'm getting used to being perplexing to doctors. I've even tried figuring it out myself. We always think of the brain and mind working together, yet, mine hasn't. I suffered a serious brain injury, yet my mind has been fine. It actually is now even…

I have said what I need to say after 30 years personally experience in psychiatry with bipolar disease. Therefore I leave the discussion here.

between the gene level and the whole-brain level of emeegence of the diseas there are billions of neurons interacting with billions of other neurons - figure that out to undrstand the disorders See this brief you-tube vids http://www.youtube.com/wat

It is of course a good idea if bipolar disorder in its medical treatment f ex is supported by cognitive therapy and social treatment where the patitens can become in a good psycical and physical condition

Erik Bo Jensen added a discussion to the group Students of Neuroscience
I have just created a group of "bipolar affective disorder" a disease also called manic depressive disorder. There is no doubt that the causes to the disease are mostly genetic, but the problem is if we forget the environmental (psycho-social) cause…

Of course, the development of neurpsychology also is very important about another perspective on the brain psyche problem.

"A person's soul is:
-the spiritual part of that person that is belived to continue existing after the body is dead
-the non physical part of that person (...)
Your psyche is your mind and your deepest feeelings and attitudes, which form part of your nature. (Collins).
L'opera di Atristotele "De anima" viene tradotta in inglese con "On the soul" mentre dovrebbe essere tradotta "On the psyche".
