- Investigate pathophysiological processes after neonatal hypoxic-ischemic (HI) brain injury, including brain edema, blood-brain barrier breakdown, apoptosis, and oxidative stress; study the potential neuroprotective mechanisms in the developing brain provided by HIF-1 / MMPs inhibition, or osteopontin.
