Neuroscience Bulletin, the official publication of Chinese Neuroscience Society, has just published a special issue on Pain and Itch (Volume 28, Number 2 / April 2012). This special issue provides a timely focus on recent progress in our understanding of the mechanisms of pain and itch. We hope this issue will provoke new studies that provide a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying pain and itch, eventually leading to more effective treatments of devastating chronic pain and itch conditions.

The special issue is freely available from April 20 to July 20, 2012 via http://www.springerlink.com/content/1673-7067/28/2/.
